Our “heart revolution” with DUDUUM uses a methodology practiced worldwide called Theory U.
Places inhabited by people who cultivate the principles and values ​​of Theory U are called U.Labs and we created one in 2020, called U.Lab Ticino Hub, which later became U.Lab IDG Ticino Hub following our involvement in the Inner Development Goals ( IDGs ) movement.

What is Theory U?

Otto Scharmer, senior lecturer at the Sloan School of Management at MIT and co-founder of the Presencing Institute, has studied the elements characterizing the processes of change that have been successful in the world and has defined with the name of “Theory U”, one of the most innovative social techniques of leadership of systemic change. Its main purpose is to design and act the best possible future through collective processes of empathic, systemic and generative dialogue and putting the heart at the center of transformation.
By following the U-shaped movement we learn to connect with our True Self, to see our blind spot (as individuals and as a collective) and to pay the right attention , so as to experience the opening of our mind, our heart and our will.

With Theory U we facilitate not only an “external” transformation of the system, but we also guide an internal evolution of the innovation actors. They are the ones, we are the change makers of Theory U, the protagonists of a generative transformation of new visions that we are co-creating in the “”, in contact with an intuitive understanding (based on the expanded awareness that comes from listening and acting with the heart) of the future that the system itself “wants” to live.

The U.Lab IDG Ticino Hub

The U.Lab IDG Ticino Hub is a generative home, where people share an individual and collective journey, learning both the methods and tools of Theory U and the IDG's framework, by practicing them.

We collaborate closely with Paolo Fedi and the U.Lab IDG Roma Hub he co-founded, together with the Ticino association In-Patto and numerous ulabbers whom we had the honor of accompanying into the world of Theory U from 2020 to 2023.
Paolo has also become an important figure in the DUDUUM archipelago - born in September 2023 - for his valuable work relating to "tasting transformations".

The aim of the U.Lab IDG Ticino Hub is to cultivate the qualities of a “responsible inner and outer guide”, capable of finding both individual and collective answers to current local and global challenges and co-creating the world we want.

Our work focuses on three pillars:
❤️ personal transformation as a prerequisite for social transformation
❤️ individual and collective action based on a new systemic awareness
❤️ the connection and co-creation with the territory and its actors

In U.Lab, people, groups, organizations, and even large social systems learn a model and methodology to use to respond to significant change, with compassion, curiosity, and courage. At a time when prejudice, fear, and separation seem to be the dominant responses in our political, social, and economic systems, this approach promises a path to development that is more inclusive and sustainable.
In U.Lab we develop awareness of the principles that favor/hinder fair, supportive and sustainable development, focusing on the states of Presencing and Absencing, in which curiosity, compassion and courage are contrasted with cynicism, hatred and fear.
We help people develop the ability to listen empathetically and generatively and to understand the inner place from which decisions are made.
We use peer-coaching because we believe that mutual support and sharing experiences is a way to enrich each other, co-evolve and co-create a better future for all.

With the birth of DUDUUM, the work with Theory U has been incorporated into the “ tasting transformations ”.
As per the statute, DUDUUM aims to invest part of the profits in free activities aimed at promoting greater awareness: the U.Lab IDG Hub Ticino represents for us the vehicle through which we will re-propose U.Lab 1x and U.Lab2x courses free of charge, when financial sustainability allows us to do so (for questions or anything else, do not hesitate to contact us).

Generative Interdependence Agreements

The ADIG - Generative Interdependence Agreements - and the World Cacao format (an evolution of the World Café) were generated with Paolo Fedi and a group of professionals from Theory U.
These innovation tools push us beyond the boundaries of traditional thinking, freeing us from preconceptions and conditioning that often prevent us from embracing true social innovation, freeing the mind and opening the heart, at the service of the will and action of good.

The ADIG (Generative Interdependence Agreements) are tools of individual and corporate social responsibility, agile, appropriate even for those who cannot and/or do not want to go beyond certifications and labels, and want to embody a "servant leadership" at the service of the common good. They arise from the B-Corp Declaration of Interdependence and the Mondora Interdependence Agreements and evolve by overcoming the unilateral and monetary dimension of "counterpart", promoting a relationship of equivalence between partners built on the basis of TRUST and the will to do good for all (3 win: for the counterparties and for the entire community).

The World Cacao

WORLD CACAO is an expansion of the Open Space Technology technique known as World Café , which refers to the historic literary café , a place where you are invited to a free-from-judgment and passionate dialogue on topics of common interest. The proposed expansion also involves bringing into play the qualities and skills related to “feeling (heart) and wanting”, which are achieved through transformative tasting with DUDUUM.
World Cacao was co-created during U.Lab2x 2023 and validated on several occasions (e.g. Festival delle Equivalenze in Florence, Progetto Dialoghi Futuri).

The Future Dialogues Project (Novazzano, Switzerland)

“Co-create common good and become a community”: this is the common intent that we brought to Novazzano (Ticino, Switzerland), between 2022-2024, within the national project Dialoghi Futuri. A civic initiative that we had the pleasure of carrying out using Theory U, involving the Municipality and the stakeholders of the Municipality and which generated four initiatives and gave life to a citizens' association that will be the custodian of the principles of Theory U, will promote collaboration between the associations already existing in the territory and will nourish the Purpose of our collective journey.
